St John's Church Penistone

We follow a monthly pattern of services throughout the year. Occasionally these may change for seasonal or one off services and events, so keep an eye on our social pages for regular updates.

1st Sunday – 10:30am Eucharist

A traditional service with Holy Communion

2nd Sunday – 10:30am Good News Cafe

An informal service for all ages with activities, discussions and breakfast around tables

3rd Sunday – 10:30am Eucharist

A traditional service with Holy Communion

4th Sunday – 10:30am Messy Church

An interactive service with fun for the whole family. Occasionally we have a short communion at the end of the service. We have also celebrated baptisms during these services so do get in touch if that is something you would like to explore.

5th Sunday – Team Service

An opportunity to gather with the other congregations in our Ministry Team and rotate around each others buildings. Please see our social pages for information about where these are held, or get in touch.

St John's sits in the heart of the community here in Penistone as it is located behind the main High Street and opposite the very popular, Penistone Paramount cinema.

If you are joining us on foot then you will find access ways to enter the churchyard from the surrounding roads; Shrewsbury Road, Market Place, and Church Street, with level access through the lichgate. If you are travelling by road you can use the postcode S36 6DY to easily find us on your satnav.

Inside the church there is a ramp and disabled toilet, allowing good accessibility for all.
